About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Portfolio Manager to join our team at Wellington-Altus Private Wealth Inc. as an Associate Vice-President, Central Overlay Group Operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Modelling
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to support trade administration for our managed account program(s).
    • Oversee daily functions of portfolio administrators ensuring client portfolios are managed as per target allocation.
    • Execute rebalancing based on model updates from Portfolio Managers for our managed account programs.
    • Execute trade requests for our USA operations ensuring accurate execution and settlement with the custodian.
    • Work collaboratively with project teams to transition the managed account program to a new Portfolio Management system ensuring all requirements identified and team is operationally ready.
    • Work with Portfolio Management team to launch and support SMA/UMA and ultimately UMH program.
  • Portfolio Manager Support
    • Support our discretionary investment advisors with trade execution for their managed accounts.
    • Assist Portfolio Managers with best practice modelling using Enterprise Portfolio Management software.
    • Deliver superior service to Portfolio Managers as well as clients within our managed account program.
  • People Management
    • Manage a team of portfolio administrators and analysts ensuring the timely execution of model updates.
    • Handle rebalancing and trade requests.
  • System Management
    • Work with the Envestnet team to manage Portfolio Management software, ensuring it meets the needs of managed platforms, as well as the needs of our Portfolio Managers.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A degree or diploma in business administration, economics, or equivalent combination of education and experience within the financial services industry.
  • 8+ years' experience within financial services, preferably with SMA/UMA experience.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
  • CFP and/or CFA designation is a strong asset.
  • Experience with Portfolio Management software (EnvestNet is an asset).
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • An ability to demonstrate a high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day-to-day work and long-term goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a dedication to providing a superior level of service to our branches & advisory teams.
  • An excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, and an ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Strong critical thinking and written and verbal communication skills.
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be able to travel within Canada 0-5% of the time.
  • A background check, satisfactory to the employer, may be required of the successful applicant prior to commencing employment.
