About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst Consultant, Savings & Retirement to join our team at Accoravillage. As a key member of our Savings and Retirement Department, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and improving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Requirements Analysis and Review: Develop and implement effective requirements analysis and review processes to ensure that business needs are met.
  • Assess IT Estimates and Determine MVP: Assess IT estimates and determine the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) required to meet business benefits, while balancing project costs and timelines.
  • Strategic Planning and Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies and create business cases to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Consult with Management and Stakeholders: Consult with management and stakeholders to identify business needs, opportunities, and operational effectiveness, and provide recommended solutions for process improvements.
  • Document Requirements and Facilitate Requirements Review Sessions: Document requirements and facilitate requirements review sessions with business sponsors, project stakeholders, and IT partners.
  • Participate in Technical Analysis Meetings and Daily Stand-ups: Participate in technical analysis meetings and daily stand-ups with IT partners and support Systems Analysts during the development of functional specifications.
  • Advocate for the Business and Ensure User Satisfaction: Advocate for the business and ensure user satisfaction by working closely with developers and other IT resources.
  • Support Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing: Support Quality Assurance Analysts to ensure test strategy mitigates business risk, and participate in User Acceptance Testing to ensure user satisfaction.
  • Develop and Execute Process Redesign Implementation Plan: Develop and execute a Process Redesign implementation plan, leading and coaching the business through the implementation, ensuring strong change management.
  • Provide Coaching and Mentorship: Provide coaching and mentorship for Business Analysts/User Acceptance Testers, at all levels (junior through senior), by assessing gaps and providing training.
  • Manage Project Scope, Schedule, Reporting, Issue Tracking, and Escalation: Manage project scope, schedule, reporting, issue tracking, and escalation for non-IT projects.
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Equivalent Combination of Education and Work Experience: A post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5 Years of Experience as a Lead Business Analyst or Systems Analyst: 5 years of experience as a Lead Business Analyst or Systems Analyst on large IT projects, in the financial services or insurance industry.
  • Strong Experience in Process Redesign: Strong experience in Process Redesign, including data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control, and risk analysis, and modern business methods and performance measurement techniques.
  • Expert-Level Knowledge of Business Analysis: Expert-level knowledge of Business Analysis, including process, tools, and techniques.
  • Experience Developing, Coaching, and Mentoring Business Analysts/User Acceptance Testers: Experience developing, coaching, and mentoring Business Analysts/User Acceptance Testers, at a junior to senior level.
  • Proven Success in Developing and Implementing Training Programs: Proven success in developing and implementing training programs.
  • Ability to Write Business Cases, Project Plans, Schedules, and Budgets: Ability to write business cases, project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Strong Knowledge of Systems Development Methodologies: Strong knowledge of systems development methodologies.
  • Knowledge and Experience with Agile Development and Product Ownership: Knowledge and experience with agile development and product ownership.
  • Experience Developing Non-Functional Requirements: Experience developing non-functional requirements (e.g., application performance, scalability, throughput).
  • Strong Critical Thinking and Analytical Capability: Strong critical thinking and analytical capability, with the ability to define and resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent Documentation and Presentation Skills: Excellent documentation and presentation skills (written and verbal) with attention to detail.
  • Strong Organization and Time Management Skills: Strong organization and time management skills with well-developed project management skills.
  • Strong Interpersonal, Motivational, and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.
  • Strong Conceptual Skills and Ability to Exercise Flexibility and Judgment: Strong conceptual skills and ability to exercise flexibility and judgment in a changing environment.
  • Business Analyst Certification or Significant Previous Experience as a BA: Business Analyst Certification or significant previous experience as a BA.
  • Technical Skills: MS Office, MS Visio, HP ALM/Quality Center, Test Automation Tools (asset).
