Commercial Originations Director

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Commercial Originations team in Ontario and Western Canada. As Director, Commercial Originations, you will be responsible for driving the growth of our large commercial mortgage business, enhancing our Equitable Bank and Commercial Finance Group brands, and developing productive business relationships with partners, brokers, and direct clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and guidance to the Commercial Originations team to achieve origination volume and profitability targets in Ontario and Western Canada.
- Develop and maintain strong partner, broker, and direct client relationships at the Director level, representing Equitable Bank and Commercial Finance Group at industry events and being accessible to our customers.
- Champion new loans that push the boundaries of our comfort zone but are within the Bank's risk appetite and reflective of current economic conditions.
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Funding, and Portfolio Management to improve internal processes with a focus on the customer experience.
- Minimum 10-15 years of industry experience in commercial banking and relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to drive origination volume growth by consistently exceeding annual sales targets as a Regional Director or in a comparable commercial banking environment.
- Experience in structuring syndicated and investor loans.
- Post-secondary education with a preference for a degree in business, finance, or economics.
- Self-starter and highly motivated individual with strong leadership and communication skills.
