Job Summary

Pomeroy Lodging LP is seeking a highly skilled Food and Beverage Operations Manager to join our team at the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in hotel food and beverage operations to lead our outlets team. As a Food and Beverage Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our food and beverage outlets, ensuring exceptional guest service, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by Example: Motivate employees and direct the organization of the outlets team, creating a passion for consistent service.
  • Effective Leadership: Ensure effective leadership, training, development, coaching, and performance management of employees, selecting the right leaders and placing them in the right roles.
  • Service Standards: Ensure the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge Food and Beverage Standards are the core culture in the outlets, setting a very high standard of guest service and ensuring consistency throughout the team.
  • Financial Management: Ensure daily payroll is in line with daily covers, revenues, and forecasted productivities.
  • Employee Engagement: Build and maintain a positive work environment, employee relationships, which will lead to consistency in high employee satisfaction.
  • Work Environment: Ensure a clean and well-maintained work environment, with continual emphasis on promoting employee health and safety.
  • Employee Success: Ensure each team member is set up for success, by providing them with on-floor leadership and the proper resources to do their job.
  • Communication: Create a method to ensure open communication is maintained with all departments within the hotel and that this information is passed along to the employees.
  • Incentives: Create incentive programs for the staff, monthly food and beverage promotions, and continuous improvement ideas for the existing incentive program.
  • Performance Reviews: Involve the Restaurant Management team to ensure accurate employee performance reviews are completed by anniversary dates.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of hotel food and beverage leadership experience.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge in all areas of F&B service.
  • Passion: A passion for food, wine, and exceptional guest service is a necessity.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management is an asset.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required; must possess a high level of motivation, energy, enthusiasm, decisiveness, creativity, and flair.
  • Leadership: Must possess proven leadership, administrative, and staff development skills.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work as business volumes dictate.
  • Computer Skills: Must be computer literate, preference given to individuals with strong knowledge of Micros 9700 and Opera.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with all co-workers and a variety of external candidates.
  • Pressure Management: Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Visionary: Having vision and the ability to lead employees consistently to achieve goals.
