  • Employment Type: Part-time, 21 hours per week (maternity leave replacement).

Role Summary

The Officer of Community Initiatives plays a crucial role in supporting the Community Interest Sphere by executing its strategy and engaging with various communities in daily operations. This position entails evaluating contribution requests, overseeing these requests, collaborating with community partners, and delivering comprehensive administrative assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Community Interest Sphere programs, ensuring effective communication and implementation of the new strategy while being attuned to equity groups.
  • Oversee administrative functions related to the Community Interest Sphere contributions process, providing support for the reception, evaluation, and tracking of contribution requests.
  • Engage with community partners, representing the Foundation's mission, values, strategies, and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • Demonstrate functional bilingualism with strong oral and written communication skills in English or French.
  • Possess experience and insight into nonprofit organizations and initiatives that serve communities.
  • Have three to four years of experience in program administration and support.
  • Hold a post-secondary diploma or possess equivalent experience.
  • Commit to EDIA frameworks and practices.
  • Be willing and able to travel as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in public awareness initiatives related to equity communities, particularly 2SLGBTQ+ and disability communities.
  • Familiarity with budget administration.
  • Understanding of Foundation interest spheres and philanthropy trends in Canada.
  • Experience in group facilitation and coordination.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks.
