About the Role

The Program Manager, Community Development will support the Community Development team in implementing the foundation's strategy and engaging with communities in various aspects of their work. This role will play a key support role by reviewing grant applications, tracking these applications, collaborating with community partners, and providing comprehensive administrative support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support Community Development Programs: Assist the Community Development Director in communicating and implementing the new Community Development strategy. Be aware and sensitive to the realities of equity-seeking groups. Conduct preliminary research and produce documents to support the deployment and improvement of the Community Development strategy.
  • Administration: Coordinate all administrative activities of the Community Development contribution process, and provide support for the receipt, review, and tracking of grant applications.
  • Collaboration and Representation: Interact in a professional manner with community partners, representing the Foundation, its mission, values, strategies, and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Requirements

  • Bilingualism: Functional bilingualism with excellent oral and written skills in English or French.
  • Experience and Understanding of Non-Profit Organizations: Experience and understanding of non-profit organizations and community initiatives.
  • Program Administration Experience: Three to four years of experience in program administration and support.
  • Post-Secondary Education: Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • EDIA Framework: Adherence to EDIA frameworks and practices.
  • Travel: Ability and consent to travel.

  • Public Awareness Experience: Experience in raising public awareness about equity-seeking communities.
  • Budget Administration: Experience in administering budgets.
  • Understanding of Foundation Spheres of Interest: Understanding of the context and trends specific to the Foundation's spheres of interest and philanthropy in Canada.
  • Group Coordination and Animation: Experience in coordinating and animating groups.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Processes: Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes.
