Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate Program Officer to join our dynamic team focused on community resilience, reconciliation, and climate change. We utilize various strategies to achieve these goals, including financial contributions, capacity building, and collaboration with diverse sectors.
Reporting Structure
This role reports directly to the Director of Programs, Communities within the Programs department, Community Interest Sphere.
Job Summary
The Program Officer plays a vital role in supporting the Community Interest Sphere by implementing its strategy and engaging with communities across various aspects of daily operations. This includes reviewing contribution requests, monitoring their progress, collaborating with community partners, and providing comprehensive administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated support to Community Interest Sphere programs, ensuring alignment with the new strategy and demonstrating sensitivity towards equity groups.
- Coordinate administrative tasks for the Community Interest Sphere's contribution process, including receiving, reviewing, tracking, and managing contribution requests.
- Serve as a representative of the Foundation, its mission, values, strategies, and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility when interacting with community partners.
- Maintain functional bilingualism with excellent oral and written communication skills in either English or French.
Qualifications & Skills
- Possess a minimum of three to four years of experience in program administration and support.
- Hold a post-secondary diploma or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of nonprofit organizations and initiatives serving communities.
- Exhibit a high level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, humility, rigor, and transparency.
- Show genuine interest in positive social and environmental change.
- Be able to work independently while maintaining clear communication and collaboration with colleagues.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting with senior management and diverse communities.
- Demonstrate self-awareness of strengths and weaknesses.
