Senior Manager, FP&A Job Description

Horizon Recruitment Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, FP&A to join our team. As a key member of the leadership team, you will provide strategic financial planning and analysis support to our large non-profit client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development of financial strategies and business cases, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide financial planning and analysis expertise to support key business decisions, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
  • Lead the delivery of accurate financial forecasts and plans, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Execute month-end and year-end activities, ensuring timely closure of the accounting period.
  • Prepare and review regular financial performance reports, providing commentary on variances.
  • Support the preparation of robust business cases, capital investment plans, and new program proposals.
  • Manage directly and indirectly reporting staff, overseeing selection, coaching, mentoring, development, performance management, and people-management practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or commerce with a focus on finance, accounting, and business management.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or MBA degree in finance.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience at progressive levels of responsibility, involving financial planning and management in a large, complex organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial planning and analysis concepts, theories, practices, and methods.
  • Strong business acumen with advanced skills in financial and capital planning, project management, and change management.
  • Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking, and ability to apply sound judgment in interpretation of analytical findings.
  • Advanced Excel skills and high level of proficiency in Microsoft office programs.
  • Experience using ERP's and business intelligence tools.
  • Advanced people leadership skills with ability to build and manage teams in a unionized, public sector environment.
Remuneration:
  • $130,000 - $140,000
