Position Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Delivering comprehensive patient care in a culturally sensitive manner, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to assess, educate, and support patients in their health journey. Ensuring adherence to health and safety policies to maintain a secure environment for patients, staff, and families. Building strong relationships with colleagues and patients, utilizing your excellent communication skills to foster a collaborative atmosphere. Contributing to the hospital's academic mission by engaging in teaching and research initiatives.

Practical Skills Required:
Demonstrated ability to perform nursing duties in accordance with the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with patients and healthcare team members. Strong critical thinking and organizational skills to respond to patient needs. Knowledge of safe patient handling techniques. Commitment to ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives. Proficiency in using computer systems for patient documentation and information management. Excellent assessment skills, particularly in geriatric care. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport in a family-centered care environment.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing from an accredited institution. Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. A minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience, particularly with older adults. Completion of a recent health assessment course. Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
