Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a College/CEGEP program.
  • Experience: Previous experience is considered an asset.
Work Environment

Our facility focuses on providing care in a nursing home setting, dedicated to the elderly population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications to residents.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques, including sterile dressing applications.
  • Implement infection control measures effectively.
  • Monitor and document the therapeutic and side effects of medications.
  • Measure and record vital signs accurately.
  • Deliver nursing services based on thorough patient assessments and care planning.
  • Evaluate patient progress and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize care.
Licensure and Certifications
  • Must be eligible for licensure as a practical nurse in the relevant province/territory.
  • Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination is required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory.
Specialization

Focus on geriatric care is essential for this position.

Safety and Compliance
  • Criminal record check and immunization records are required.
  • Tuberculosis testing and vulnerable sector checks are mandatory.
