Summary:

  • Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) possess a comprehensive set of knowledge, clinical competencies, procedural expertise, and professional demeanor essential for delivering patient-focused care.

Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of a Licensed Practical Nursing program with active registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Recent experience and ongoing education in medical-surgical nursing practices.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to float across various Health Services within the institution.
  • A minimum of one year of recent experience in medical/surgical nursing.
  • Proficient in the use of feeding pumps, administering oxygen, performing sterile dressings, and catheterization.
  • Strong observational and organizational capabilities.
  • Experience in pediatric care and long-term/chronic care settings is considered advantageous.
