Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Traffic Manager to join our team at the Government of Canada - Central. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our freight traffic department.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and monitor the performance of our freight traffic department to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Plan and organize daily operations to meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the transportation and storage of goods.
- Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods to ensure timely and safe delivery.
- Monitor and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption to optimize our logistics operations.
- Collaborate with our transportation partners to establish and implement standards for the transportation and storage of goods.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve our logistics operations and reduce costs.
Requirements
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position that requires working on-site at our physical location. We do not offer remote work options.
