Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Controller to join our team at Forest Contractors Ltd. As a Traffic Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic around our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Direct Traffic Flow: Safely direct the flow of traffic around active construction zones using a variety of tools, including signs and two-way radios.
  2. Implement Traffic Control Plans: Follow the traffic control plan as written and communicated by the Site Supervisor, Supervisor, and/or Project Manager.
  3. Communicate with Site Teams: Communicate with Site Supervisors and other Traffic Controllers to ensure traffic is flowing efficiently and with minimal disruption.
  4. Interact with Pedestrians and Motorists: Interact with pedestrians and motorists as needed to maintain a safe and orderly traffic flow.
  5. Report Safety Concerns: Report any unsafe acts or conditions observed while controlling traffic.
  6. Work in Various Environments: Work at multiple locations and under a variety of weather conditions.
  7. Flexible Scheduling: Work night shifts, as required.
Requirements
  1. Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with site teams and the public.
  2. Positive Attitude and Teamwork: Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
  3. Construction Industry Experience: Experience in the construction industry as a Traffic Controller is considered an asset.
  4. Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  5. Safety-Conscious Demeanor: Demonstrate a safety-conscious demeanor and willingness to adhere to company safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  6. Ability to Follow Instructions: Possess the ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  7. Valid Driver's License: Hold a valid driver's license (G2 or G) with the ability to travel to multiple sites.
