Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales and Revenue Manager to join our team at Argus Properties. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and developing strategic sales and marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness and drive business results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue growth and increase brand awareness
  • Lead a dynamic sales team to achieve daily sales efforts, total revenues, and yield strategies
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement revenue management strategies to optimize room revenues and sales mix
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the community, industry, and business sectors to position the hotel as a leader in the market
  • Collect and analyze market and competitive research to inform sales and marketing strategies and drive business results
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract guests, increase brand awareness, and drive overall revenue, including advertising, promotions, public relations, and digital marketing efforts
  • Direct and manage all sales training, yearly sales targets, sales quotas, the incentive plan, and all other corporate and hotel learning required to maintain the most effective sales professionals in the market
  • Keep informed of the competition's sales and marketing strategies and report sales intelligence of benefit to our organization on a timely basis
  • Evaluate and initiate opportunities for developing new sources of business in all market segments and broaden the account base that aligns with our elevated offering
  • Provide overall leadership, direction, training, and development to the Sales and Marketing teams
  • Work closely with the Director of Revenue to generate demand and define the best business opportunities
  • Develop and manage the annual marketing plan, Rooms budget, and departmental operation budget
  • Set parameters for rate strategies for all market segments
  • Oversee day-to-day duties of prospecting accounts, account development, site inspections, and proper account management practices by the Sales Team
  • Active in developing new business and assuming a market segment for sales
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required
  • Schedule effective business trips and appointments within assigned markets
  • Participate in sites and industry tradeshows
  • Participate in prescribed training and special projects
  • Creation of a variety of PowerPoint presentations for ownership, corporate, and the hotel
  • Prepare Sales Reports and annual Sales & Marketing Plan
  • Creates an effective Sales Programs that will increase awareness and positive perception of the Hotel & activities, culinary services, and personnel
  • Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends, and economic factors
  • Ability to access, understand, and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
  • Assist the General Manager in preparation of the marketing, advertising, sales plans, programs, and annual budget; manage within approved plans and budgets
  • Develop rates, group sales deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis, and mix management
  • Ability to effectively listen, communicate, and perform diplomacy with internal and external guests and staff in all situations
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the hotel property and continuously perform essential job functions
  • Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community
  • Prepare, implement, and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts, and other reports as directed/required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession
  • Minimum five years of sales and marketing in the hotel industry
  • Previous experience in a hotel setting either as a Director of Sales or a minimum of 5 years experience in a Marketing Manager role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and property management systems. Opera, CI/TY, and Excel experience preferred. Various email marketing platforms, WordPress, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong media, presentation, and computer skills
  • Experience with hotel revenue management with ability to understand and interpret financial data
  • A results-oriented individual dedicated to driving revenues for Argus Properties through creative, cost-effective, well-planned, and measured sales & marketing initiatives
  • Excellent understanding of all market segments
  • Excellent communications skills - interpersonal, written, and public media relations
