About the Role

As a Registered Practical Nurse with RT Medical, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in need. This position involves working in a variety of settings, including long-term care facilities, and requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Direct Care: Provide hands-on care to patients, including wound care, IV medications, and re-sites, catheter care, compression/VAC, and ostomy care.
  • Travel and Transportation: Travel within your region to provide care to patients in their homes, clinics, retirement homes, or schools.
  • Communication and Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, protecting and promoting patient rights, and communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Diploma from a recognized RPN program or equivalent, and registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Experience and Skills: Experience as a visiting nurse, visiting registered nurse, visiting registered practical nurse, and/or community nurse is considered an asset. Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, and sitting; ability to reposition clients in bed.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR, updated immunization records, clear criminal background checks, and Vulnerable sector checks.
