About the Role

As a Registered Practical Nurse with RT Medical, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in need of assistance due to aging, injury, surgery, or illness. This position involves agency staffing support and will be based at multiple long-term care facilities.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a patient-centered approach. You will work collaboratively with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Provide direct patient care, including wound management, IV medication administration, and catheter care.
  • Travel to patients' homes, clinics, retirement homes, or schools to provide care and support.
  • Delegate tasks to other healthcare professionals as required, within your scope of practice.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Diploma from a recognized RPN program or equivalent.
  • Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification.
  • Updated immunization records, including a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months.
  • Clear criminal background checks and Vulnerable Sector checks.
  • Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful, and courteous manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and crisis-resolution skills.
  • Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
