Position Summary
We are currently seeking a motivated Buyer Co-Op Student to join our team. This position will be based in our Oakville Office.
The Buyer Co-Op Student will play a crucial role in facilitating purchases that align with the financial guidelines established through budgeting and forecasting processes. This position is essential in identifying opportunities and executing strategies to enhance operational efficiencies. The role involves responding to procurement needs for goods and services that support the overall productivity of the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing purchasing activities for indirect materials.
- Support Purchase Order (PO) management, inventory oversight, and supplier payment processes.
- Identify and implement strategies to boost site efficiencies.
- Track supplier performance, particularly regarding delivery timelines, and communicate potential supply chain risks to relevant teams.
- Assist in procuring indirect items, including industrial supplies, safety equipment, janitorial products, waste management solutions, and lubricants as needed.
- Monitor KANBAN and Min-Max levels to manage inventory effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program focused on Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
- Familiarity with sourcing and procurement methodologies.
- Experience with various MRP and ERP systems.
- Strong negotiation and collaboration abilities.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Solid analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
