Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Direct Materials Buyer to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing Bill Of Material (BOM) coverage for our manufacturing facilities and overseeing buy-sell responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management principles, supplier relationships, and cost optimization strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage inventory levels at manufacturing sites to ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement replenishment programs to optimize supply chain processes and minimize stockouts.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers, identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved performance.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and logistics, to align supply chain activities and ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), maintain accurate master data, and release purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for sourcing activities and contract management processes.
  • Assist with the implementation of new products and address any product-related complaints or issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and analyze purchasing/inventory data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost optimization opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in inventory management or purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of Kanban systems, Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, and vendor management best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools is essential.
  • Experience with PowerBI or similar data visualization tools is a plus.
