This role is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory for our manufacturing facilities to ensure timely delivery of products at the best value. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, purchasing, or related business experience.
Key Responsibilities- Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory management strategies to minimize stockouts and overstocking, ensuring optimal inventory levels and reducing costs.
- Procurement: Source and procure materials and supplies from vendors, negotiating prices and terms to achieve maximum value.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure supply chain activities are aligned with business objectives, improving overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
- Master Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date master data in our ERP system, ensuring planning records are reliable and trustworthy.
- Purchase Order Management: Release purchase orders after validation of MRP recommendations, considering budget and demand forecast.
- Kanban and Min-Max Management: Monitor and manage Kanban/Min-Max levels to ensure inventory levels are optimized, supporting efficient site operations.
- Vendor Management: Work with Strategic Sourcing on sourcing activities, contract implementation, and ongoing contract management and vendor management activities.
- Product Complaints and Resolution: Manage and monitor product complaints and resolution through Quality SCAR process.
- New Product Implementation: Support the new product implementation process utilizing a Stage Gate process, led by Innovation.
- Purchasing and Inventory Management Reports: Prepare, analyze, and maintain purchasing/inventory management reports.
- Education: Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, or related field is preferred.
- Certifications: APICS, CPIM, CSCP, SCMAO – certifications are an asset.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Inventory Management, Purchasing or related business experience (Indirect or Direct purchasing in a manufacturing environment).
- Skills: In-depth knowledge of Kanban systems/VMI, plant operations, and MRP systems. Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office tools, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS, and Macros. Experience with PowerBI is a strong asset.
