Your Role: Guiding International Student Success

As an International Student Experience Advisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our international student population. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and guidance to students from their initial application through graduation and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Engagement & Community Building:
    • Coordinate engaging events and activities that celebrate diverse cultures and foster a sense of belonging among international students.
    • Lead orientation programs and workshops designed to equip new students with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive at Camosun College.
    • Facilitate peer support groups and create opportunities for intercultural dialogue and connection.
  • Academic Support & Registration Assistance:
    • Provide guidance on program selection, application processes, transfer agreements, and bridging programs.
    • Assist students with online registration, fee payments, and withdrawal requests.
    • Disseminate information about academic resources and support services available to international students.
  • Immigration & Cultural Integration:
    • Offer guidance on immigration procedures and regulations relevant to international students.
    • Connect students with community resources and organizations that support their cultural integration.
    • Promote awareness of Canadian culture and customs to facilitate a smooth transition for new arrivals.
Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting international students. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in education, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in using Colleague or other integrated student registration systems.
  • Fluency in English and another language is highly desirable.
