About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant at 1439560 ALBERTA LTD. O/A KIDS 'R' US DAYCARE#1. As an assistant to our early childhood educators, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Support: Assist early childhood educators in implementing programs that promote the overall development of children, including physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth.
  • Record Keeping: Collaborate with early childhood educators or supervisors to maintain accurate records of children's progress.
  • Engagement and Activities: Engage children in various activities, such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, to foster their creativity and curiosity.
  • Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support to children in developing essential life skills, including proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Preparation and Arrangement: Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Observations and Progress: Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and challenges faced by children, ensuring a collaborative approach to their care and education.
Certifications and Experience
  • Certifications: Possess an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and a First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience: Have at least 7 months of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.

  • Mentorship Programs: Participate in mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, promoting cultural understanding and professional growth.
  • Indigenous Support: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect.
Work Environment
  • Work Schedule: Work a regular schedule of 32 to 40 hours per week, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
  • Language of Work: Communicate primarily in English, with opportunities to work with diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
