Finance Data Analytics Leader

Sun Life is seeking a driven and experienced Director, Finance Data Analytics to lead a team of talented professionals in delivering impactful data analytics projects. This role will be instrumental in shaping the organization's analytics strategy and driving data-driven decision making across all facets of finance.

As the leader of this dynamic team, you will foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. You will work closely with key stakeholders across the global Finance organization to identify critical business needs and develop tailored data solutions that deliver tangible value.

Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with finance teams globally, ensuring alignment on strategic objectives and data initiatives.
  • Provide valuable insights and recommendations to senior leadership regarding data strategy, processes, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Technology team to implement robust data solutions that meet evolving business requirements.
  • Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive Enterprise Finance analytics roadmap, prioritizing projects based on strategic impact and feasibility.
  • Identify and evaluate new opportunities for leveraging data analytics to enhance operational efficiency, improve financial performance, and drive innovation.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure successful delivery of data-driven solutions.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a related field within the financial services industry.
  • Deep understanding of the entire analytics lifecycle, from data acquisition and processing to model development and deployment.
  • Proficiency in coding languages such as Python or R, along with experience working with cloud-based platforms like AWS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
