About the Opportunity

The City of St. Albert is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatics Instructor to join our Recreation & Parks team. As a key member of our aquatic programs team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality aquatic programs and services to participants of all ages and abilities.
  • Organize, clean, and set up equipment at designated areas, ensuring a safe and tidy environment.
  • Develop and deliver program content tailored to diverse abilities, including creating lesson plans and providing instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant performance and distribute program evaluations.
Requirements
  • Swim Instructor/Examiner certification from The Lifesaving Society.
  • Any additional aquatic experience and training is considered an asset.
  • Preference given to candidates with teaching experience and those holding one or more of the following: Lifesaving Instructor, Basic First Aid, Intermediate First Aid, National Lifeguard, Oxygen Administration, Swimabilities, JLC Coach, and/or Swim Coach Certification.
Working Conditions
  • Flexible schedule with a variety of shifts, including weekdays and weekends.
  • Minimum of 8 hours per week required.
Compensation

$26.90 per hour based on qualifications and experience.

  • Proof of educational and professional credentials required.
