Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fitness Instructor to lead our aquatic programs at the Kiwanis Aquatic Centre. As a Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for developing and delivering safe and enjoyable fitness instruction to our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Class Instruction: Develop and deliver safe and effective fitness classes that cater to diverse fitness levels and goals.
  • Class Planning: Plan and organize classes, including creating lesson plans, setting up equipment, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to members, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other Fitness Instructors and Aquatic staff to ensure a positive and motivating work environment.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in water fitness instruction, and share knowledge with colleagues.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Standard First Aid and CPR C, CALA and/or WaterArt certification, and Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in a related field, such as kinesiology or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Fitness Instructor in a aquatic setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong commitment to customer service.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working up to 24 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
