Meat Assistant Department Manager - Full Time

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Meat Assistant Department Manager to join our team at Longo's. As a key member of our meat department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Meat Manager in preparing the department for daily operations, including inventory management and scheduling.
  2. Motivate and mentor team members to achieve high levels of productivity and customer satisfaction.
  3. Provide support with regular team meetings and coach team members to maintain the highest level of quality and service.
  4. Handle customer and team member issues in a professional and timely manner.
  5. Uphold company policies and procedures, including health and safety, food safety, and loss prevention.
  6. Merchandise and manage inventory to meet financial objectives.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service to all team members, customers, and vendors.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 1-year experience in a meat department with a solid understanding of product knowledge.
  2. Previous experience with cutting meat and knowledge of raw materials, product processes, and quality control costs.
  3. Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships with team members and customers.
  4. Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems.
  6. Ownership to resolve issues with a sense of urgency.
  7. Effective communication and listening skills.
  8. Strong creativity skills and ability to create eye-catching displays.
  9. Ability to role model and inspire behavior consistent with our values.
  10. Work is performed in a store retail environment.
  11. Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends.
  12. Travel is required to support off-site events.
