Meat Department Assistant Manager - Full Time

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Meat Department Assistant Manager to join our team at Longo's. As a key member of our meat department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our meat department.

As the Meat Department Assistant Manager, you will assist the Meat Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the meat department, including managing inventory, scheduling, and merchandising.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Motivate and Mentor Team Members: Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they are equipped to provide exceptional customer service and meet sales targets.
  2. Support Team Meetings: Participate in regular team meetings to discuss sales performance, inventory levels, and customer feedback.
  3. Coach and Train Team Members: Develop and implement training programs to enhance team members' skills and knowledge, ensuring they are able to maintain the highest level of productivity.
  4. Handle Customer and Team Member Issues: Resolve customer complaints and team member concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  5. Uphold Company Policies and Procedures: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety, food safety, and loss prevention.
  6. Merchandise and Manage Inventory: Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to drive sales and manage inventory levels to meet financial objectives.
  7. Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Ensure that all team members provide exceptional customer service to all customers, vendors, and team members.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 1-year experience in a meat department: Proven experience in a meat department with a solid understanding of product knowledge.
  2. Previous experience with cutting meat: Demonstrated ability to cut meat to high standards.
  3. Knowledge of raw materials, product processes, and quality control costs: Understanding of raw materials, product processes, and quality control costs.
  4. Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships: Excellent customer service skills and ability to build relationships with team members and customers.
  5. Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and work in a fast-paced environment: Proven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems: Proficient in computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems.
  7. Ownership to resolve issues with a sense of urgency: Demonstrated ability to resolve issues with a sense of urgency.
