Job Summary:
The Meat Assistant Department Manager is a key role in ensuring the Meat Department is prepared for daily operations. As a leader, you will assist the Meat Manager in maintaining a high level of productivity, customer satisfaction, and team morale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Motivate and mentor Team Members to achieve sales and customer service goals
- Provide support with regular team meetings and coaching sessions
- Develop and implement strategies to improve department productivity and efficiency
- Handle customer and team member issues in a professional and timely manner
- Uphold company policies and procedures, including health and safety, food safety, and loss prevention
- Merchandise and manage inventory to meet financial objectives
- Provide exceptional customer service to all Team Members, Customers, and Vendors
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a meat department with a solid understanding of product knowledge
- Previous experience with cutting meat and knowledge of raw materials, product processes, and quality control costs
- Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships with Team Members and Customers
- Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
- Ownership to resolve issues with a sense of urgency
- Effective communication and listening skills
- Strong creativity skills and ability to create eye-catching displays
- Ability to role model and inspire behavior consistent with our values
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a store retail environment. Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends. Travel is required to support off-site events.
