The Role: Portfolio Finance Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Portfolio Finance Analyst to join our Fixed Income team within the Corporate Credit mandate. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the investment strategy for CLOs, ABS backed by corporate assets, and portfolio financing.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to conduct thorough due diligence on potential investment opportunities. This includes analyzing assets to be funded, proposed financing structures, borrower creditworthiness, and inherent risks.
  • Contribute to the structuring and negotiation of legal documentation related to investments, such as term sheets and credit agreements.
  • Prepare comprehensive analyses and investment recommendations for decision-making bodies.
  • Maintain meticulous records of portfolio files, including producing essential documentation on individual and overall portfolios (tracking sheets, internal risk ratings, sector presentations, etc.). Monitor financial performance, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with established guidelines.
  • Work closely with various internal CDPQ teams involved in portfolio management and strategy development, such as Strategy & Development, Risk Management, Evaluation, Taxation, and Legal Affairs.

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or investment banking within the fixed income market.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • CFA, CAIA, or FRM accreditations are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in financial market tools and databases (Office Suite, Bloomberg, Capital IQ).
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
