Trade Commodity Finance Portfolio Analyst

As a Trade Commodity Finance Portfolio Analyst at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA, you will play a critical role in delivering day-to-day services to our clients in the trade commodity finance space. Your responsibilities will include monitoring collateral/financing activity, reconciling credit agreement terms, and acting as the day-to-day interface between clients, the Front Office, and the Back Offices.
Key Responsibilities- Collateral Monitoring and Approval: Analyze and approve letter of credit or loan requests from clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- AML and Sanctions Checks: Perform thorough AML and Sanctions checks on all deals to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Reconciliation and Record-Keeping: Reconcile activities and ensure that both your records match the bank booking system, including collateral valuation, receivable due dates, and other relevant data.
- Communication and Collaboration: Send activities to the Back office to update the bank system, and participate in closing meetings to review and comment on closing/legal documentation.
- Covenants Monitoring and Analysis: Perform covenants monitoring & analysis and past due follow up, including borrowing base report, financial report, and other relevant data.
- Market Analysis and Reporting: Hold monthly or quarterly meetings to discuss trends and analysis on client collateral report and market events.
- Hands-on Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Middle Office or Back Office collateral monitoring.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical mindset, and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Accounting Knowledge: Good understanding of accounting concepts, including Cash, AP, AR, Net, and Inventory.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required for effective communication with colleagues and clients.
The primary language for this role is English, with the ability to communicate in French also being an asset.
