Job Summary

The Physician Navigator plays a vital role in supporting the vision, mission, and values of Prairie Mountain Health. This position is responsible for reducing the administrative burden on physicians and providing practice-specific support to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of regional and provincial services to provide informed support to physicians.

2. Regularly engage with physicians to solicit feedback and identify areas for improvement in the orientation process.

3. Provide timely and effective support to new physicians, including arranging dedicated orientation time and ensuring access to necessary resources.

4. Collaborate with Diagnostic Services to develop a deep understanding of available tests, their locations, and ordering procedures.

5. Ensure all computer access is ready for new physicians upon start date.

6. Offer a broad overview of PMH services, tailored to the specific community needs.

7. Arrange regular check-ins with new physicians to the region and solicit feedback from established physicians to discuss patient navigation issues.

8. Perform exit interviews and report to Executive Management on noticeable issues and patterns.

9. Define procedures, referral processes, and clinical issues that can be addressed virtually.

10. Develop communications to physicians about new or updated services as they become available.
