Job Summary:

The Physician Liaison is a key member of the Prairie Mountain Health team, responsible for reducing the administrative burden on physicians and providing practice-specific support. This role serves as an ambassador for PMH, interacting with medical providers and allied health workers to improve navigation of available resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain physician orientation processes to enhance knowledge of regional and provincial services.
  • Conduct regular facility tours to solicit feedback from new physicians and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide timely and effective support to new physicians, including online services and in-person requests.
  • Curate and maintain a directory of services in PMH, working closely with clinics, hospitals, and physician groups.
  • Collaborate with Diagnostic Services to develop a comprehensive understanding of available tests and procedures.
  • Ensure seamless access to computer systems for new physicians.
  • Offer a broad overview of PMH services, tailored to the specific community needs.
  • Arrange dedicated orientation time for new physicians with Department Chiefs and Clinic physicians.
  • Work with communities to curate local resources, including family support information.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with new physicians to the region.
  • Regularly solicit feedback from established physicians to discuss patient navigation issues.
  • Perform exit interviews and report notable issues to Executive Management.
  • Define procedures, referral processes, and clinical issues that can be addressed virtually.
  • Identify community resources and access methods.
  • Communicate new and updated services to physicians through targeted communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
