About the Role

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team in Quebec, Canada. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will play a key role in the success of our projects. You will work as a site supervisor and may be responsible for supervising multiple foremen or workers. You will be responsible for organizing, planning, and controlling the electrical work, ensuring that it is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor junior electrical superintendents
  • Review and approve the labor balance of foremen, apprentices, and workers
  • Manage contract administration, including meetings with subcontractors and site managers
  • Develop and implement a program to maintain good relations with clients, promoting employee participation
  • Organize and participate in regular meetings with clients to resolve issues and plan
  • Supervise and approve monthly project cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
  • Review, approve, and negotiate change orders
  • Develop and implement a project completion and handover plan
  • Keep a daily journal for archiving purposes
  • Ensure that all performance evaluations of direct subordinates are completed on time
  • Recommend, as necessary, changes to organization, policies, procedures, or personnel
  • Review and approve or reject promotions to the position of senior foreman

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in construction, including at least 3 years as an electrical superintendent (preferably on industrial or hydroelectric projects)
  • Be autonomous, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Be able to learn and quickly understand different processes related to Kiewit policies, procedures, and software
  • Be able to detect and resolve problems that may arise
  • Have excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Have strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
  • Functional knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered an asset, as mobility between Canadian provinces is required. Courses may be offered as needed.
