Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Sales Consultant to enhance our operations at People Corporation.

The Sales Consultant plays a pivotal role in expanding the portfolio of National Enterprise clients within the small to mid-sized market segment. This position focuses on achieving sales objectives, identifying and qualifying leads, and successfully closing new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and cultivate the overall relationship with a designated group of clients, providing strategic consulting, service delivery, financial oversight, plan design, pricing strategies, trend analysis, renewal negotiations, and benchmarking.
  2. Formulate and execute strategies aimed at boosting client satisfaction and retention.
  3. Maintain strong relationships with clients, including key decision-makers and administrators.
  4. Manage client expectations while effectively addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
  5. Assess the client's group insurance risks and propose suitable plan designs and cost mitigation strategies.
  6. Create annual client plans to ensure clients receive value-added services aligned with their goals and objectives.
  7. Initiate new business development through cold calling, lead generation, and networking efforts.
  8. Accountable for the revenue and profitability of client accounts and projects.
  9. Identify innovative growth opportunities within the client base through multi-product selling and unique solution generation.
  10. Actively participate in prospecting and securing new clients from leads generated through competitive bid sites, targeted networking, and referrals.
  11. Manage client growth expectations from the sales team.
  12. Engage in ongoing education to maintain a high level of knowledge regarding employee benefit legislation, administrative issues, plan rules, claim management, and client-specific procedures.
  13. Attend industry conferences and seminars to promote services and stay updated on industry trends.
  14. Represent People Corporation in the marketplace and act as a successful brand ambassador.
  15. Maintain expert knowledge of the full range of People Corporation products and services.
  16. Develop and nurture positive supplier relationships to foster strong partnerships for clients.
  17. Provide coaching and mentorship to technical, analyst, and service teams.
  18. Build and sustain strong relationships with colleagues and shared services across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. At least 5 years of progressive experience in group benefits in a client-facing or consulting role, delivering strategic and innovative solutions to complex benefits challenges.
  2. Possession of a valid and current LLQP or willingness to obtain it.
  3. In-depth expertise and understanding of the group benefits industry, including funding arrangements and flexible programs.
  4. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, along with strong strategic planning, communication, and listening abilities.
  5. Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  6. A positive attitude and a strong team player who collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. A solution-oriented individual demonstrating excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  8. Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results in a timely manner.
  9. Proficiency in utilizing multi-channel technology.
  10. Completion of or the ability to complete the Life License Qualification Program within a specified timeframe after joining.
  11. Willingness to travel as necessary.
  12. Possession of a valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
  13. Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or CEBS designation or currently pursuing it.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Completion of formal sales and presentation training.
  2. Experience with Challenger Sales and/or Consultative Selling methodologies.
