About the Role

Community Food Centres Canada is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Director of Philanthropy to join our team. As a key member of our Development and Communications department, you will play a critical role in leading our individual and foundation fundraising efforts to support our mission to build a more equitable and just food system in Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Fundraising Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction for our individual and foundation fundraising program, with a focus on securing major gifts and building long-term relationships with donors.
  • Donor Engagement and Stewardship: Develop and implement effective donor engagement and stewardship strategies to cultivate and retain major donors, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of fundraising professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the team's success in meeting fundraising goals.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Programs, Communications, and Finance, to leverage internal expertise and resources to support fundraising efforts and advance our mission.
  • Strategic Planning and Reporting: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve fundraising goals, and provide regular reporting and analysis to inform decision-making and drive results.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant fundraising experience, with a proven track record of securing major gifts and leading fundraising teams.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Communication and Relationship-Building: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies and plans.
  • Financial Acumen: Demonstrated financial literacy and budgeting skills, with the ability to manage and analyze fundraising budgets and reports.
