Job Summary

Kunuwanimano Child and Family Services is seeking a skilled Child and Youth Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing cultural, recreational, and social programming for children and youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate cultural, recreational, and social programming for children and youth.
  • Provide case management to youth in need of individual support, including crisis intervention, dispute resolution, and other supportive interventions.
  • Monitor youth progress and cultural needs.
  • Provide information, referrals, and follow-up services to children and youth.
  • Support life skills development and goal planning, including educational and job readiness.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and provide written reports as requested.
Requirements
  • Child and Youth Diploma, Social Services Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years' experience working within a social services context, preferably with Indigenous families.
  • Sound understanding of harm reduction, addictions, mental health, Indigenous healing practices, and history, developmental issues, and high-risk situations faced by children and/or youth.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to elicit cooperation from others.
  • Excellent intake assessment, crisis intervention, and advocacy skills.
  • Valid "G" Ontario Driver's license, willingness to travel, and ability to work flexible hours.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
