Nisa Foundation is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for individuals seeking healing and stability. Our team offers comprehensive support through case management, referrals, and counseling, aiming to empower residents towards achieving lasting independence and self-sufficiency.

Position Title: Youth Support Specialist
Location: Nisa Foundation
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Employment Status: Part-time hours per week

The Youth Support Specialist will be tasked with delivering childcare services to the families residing at Nisa Foundation. Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, the Youth Support Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting families on their path to regaining independence and fulfilling the necessary steps for transition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and ensure the safety of children.
  • Design and implement a weekly childcare program that includes various activities such as arts and crafts, sports, and academic support.
  • Provide guidance and support to single parents in addressing behavioral or emotional challenges their children may encounter through advice, program development, and referrals.
  • Identify and connect families with resources and support services, providing referrals as needed.
  • Maintain and regularly organize the children's play area to ensure cleanliness and order.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A relevant degree in Child and Youth Work, Early Childhood Education, or a related field, particularly in relation to vulnerable populations, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience. Other combinations of education, experience, and training may be considered.
  • Commitment to the highest standards of ethical care and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
  • Strong awareness of the needs and challenges faced by diverse social groups, including women at risk of homelessness, those escaping abuse, and newcomers.
