Instructional Designer for Inclusive Learning

Position Overview:
The University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) is seeking an experienced Educational Developer specializing in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Accessible Pedagogies. This role is pivotal in enhancing inclusive teaching practices across the institution.

Your Role:
As an Educational Developer, you will collaborate closely with faculty, librarians, and staff to promote the integration of UDL principles in curriculum design and instructional strategies. Your expertise will guide the development of learner-centered pedagogical approaches that ensure accessibility for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement instructional program components.
2. Build and maintain collaborative networks to enhance educational capacity.
3. Conduct thorough evaluations to inform program planning.
4. Assess learning outcomes to support program development.
5. Research and summarize curriculum trends for faculty.
6. Provide strategic advice to instructors on curriculum development.
7. Facilitate workshops and seminars focused on educational practices.
8. Serve as a resource for specialized educational issues.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree in Education or Disability Studies, or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
3. Strong understanding of UDL principles and inclusive pedagogy.
4. Knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related educational barriers.
5. Experience in university-level instruction and program development.
6. Engagement in scholarship related to educational development and UDL.
