About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Learning Experience Designer to join our team at The Institute for Performance and Learning. As a Learning Experience Designer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting engaging and impactful learning experiences for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify learning needs and objectives, and translate them into effective learning solutions.
  2. Apply adult learning principles, instructional design theories, and industry best practices to create high-quality learning content.
  3. Design and develop learning assessments, evaluations, and metrics to measure the effectiveness of learning programs.
  4. Deliver scheduled education for administrative staff.
  5. Continuously evaluate and iterate on existing learning programs to ensure they are meeting the needs of learners and achieving desired outcomes.
  6. Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the field of learning experience design.
  7. Administer and maintain our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
  8. Manage user access, roles, and permissions within the LMS.
  9. Upload, organize, test, and maintain learning content, including courses, assessments, and resources.
  10. Monitor LMS performance and resolve technical issues.
  11. Generate and analyze LMS reports to track training progress, completion rates, and overall system usage.
  12. Provide technical training, support, and guidance to LMS users, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  13. Champion a culture of learning and development, fostering an environment where employees are encouraged to grow and pursue their professional and personal development goals.
Requirements
  1. Post Secondary diploma or certificate in adult education or instructional design or working towards; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  2. Working towards a CTDP or CTP designation is an asset.
  3. Strong understanding of instructional design theories and approaches, and hybrid learning strategies.
  4. Experience in process improvement methodology such as Lean is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in facilitation, course creation, and delivery.
  2. A minimum of 2 years experience in branch operations, including but not limited to client coordination is required.
  3. Understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  4. Experience working in Home Care, health care or senior services would be an asset.
  5. Working knowledge of Procura or other scheduling software is an asset.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
