About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Information Management and Technology (IM/IT) department, you will play a critical role in the evaluation, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of information management and technology solutions, projects, and services across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and design information management and technology solutions to meet the needs of our organization and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with key clinical and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize project requirements and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain system configuration items in line with best practice and stakeholder approvals.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for application errors and system issues.
  • Communicate system changes and updates to end-users and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all activities within your responsible area are supported by our IM/IT business plan, established policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis, or Health-Related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Technology, Systems Analysis, or Health-Related field.
  • 2+ years' experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis, or systems support.
  • Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset.
  • Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP), and/or organizational change management an asset.
  • Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff.
  • Working knowledge of basic systems principles, theories, and concepts within healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare and technology industry best practice relating to software applications.
  • Ability to solve a range of complex problems; identify innovative solutions; and, use clinical best practice knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve service.
  • Experience creating summary documentation based on evaluation and analysis.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to solve high-risk, complex issues.
  • Experience in transformational or process analysis to support change management principles.
  • Ability to clearly communicate our vision, mission, and values.
  • Experience in working with patient care leaders.
  • A motivated self-starter.

  • $37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
