About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Information Management and Technology (IM/IT) department, you will be responsible for evaluating, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting information management and technology solutions, projects, and services across the organization.

You will collaborate with key clinical and business stakeholders to identify and implement solutions that align with the organization's strategic mission, vision, and goals. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting and resolving application errors and system issues, developing materials and communicating system changes to end users, and building and maintaining system configuration items in line with best practices and stakeholder approvals.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in information technology, business analysis, or a related field. Your skills and qualifications should include:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a technology, systems analysis, or health-related field.
  • 2+ years' experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis, or systems support.
  • Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology.
  • Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP), and/or organizational change management.
  • Knowledge and skills in clinical communications, including telephony solutions, nurse call systems, RTLS, ACD, and Call Centre Solutions.
About You Continued

We are seeking a candidate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, who can effectively communicate complex issues to clinical and business staff. Your ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to solve high-risk, complex issues is essential. Experience in transformational or process analysis to support change management principles is also desirable.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. You will be required to provide after-hours on-call support on a rotating schedule. Travel to various sites throughout Nova Scotia may be required. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
