Role Overview

Reporting to the Director of IT Procurement, the IT Services Procurement Manager is responsible for the effective oversight of procurement initiatives and contracts within their designated portfolio. Leading a team of IT Procurement Specialists, Analysts, and Officers, this role emphasizes the development, procurement, and execution of contracts and master agreements through various procurement strategies. The focus is on team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution to ensure that vendor and client requirements are met efficiently.

The IT Services Procurement Manager serves as the primary liaison for all procurement and contracting activities across a comprehensive portfolio, which may encompass multiple Divisions and/or Ministries. The IT Procurement team is tasked with managing the engagement process with suppliers, including procurement, negotiation, execution, and termination of services for the Government of Alberta (GoA). This requires close collaboration with service owners and suppliers to foster strong relationships while maximizing value. Team members are also responsible for adhering to GoA document management protocols for all contract and procurement-related information.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Strategic planning for procurement and contracts to uphold the highest standards of procurement excellence. Management of Information Management Technology (IMTI) procurement to ensure best practices and operational efficiency. Establishing and nurturing collaborative relationships with clients and vendors. Providing strong leadership with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring team members. Identifying staffing needs and enhancing business processes to align with operational and management objectives. Fostering Leadership, Mentorship, and Employee Development.

This role leads a specialized team of IT Procurement professionals, emphasizing leadership, mentorship, effective coaching, and staff development. The position is pivotal in maintaining robust relationships and strategic partnerships to facilitate province-wide procurements, vendor management, and master agreement acquisitions.
