Role Overview
Reporting to the Director of IT Procurement, the IT Services Procurement Manager is responsible for the effective oversight of procurement initiatives and contractual agreements within their designated portfolio. Leading a team of IT Procurement Specialists, Analysts, and Officers, this role emphasizes the development, procurement, and implementation of contracts and master agreements utilizing diverse procurement strategies. The focus is on team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution to ensure streamlined processes that meet the needs of both vendors and clients.
The IT Services Procurement Manager serves as the primary liaison for all procurement and contracting inquiries across a comprehensive portfolio, which may encompass multiple Divisions and/or Ministries. The IT Procurement team is tasked with managing the engagement of suppliers throughout the procurement lifecycle, including negotiation, execution, and conclusion of services for the Government of Alberta (GoA). This role necessitates close collaboration with service owners and suppliers to foster productive relationships while maximizing value. Team members are also responsible for adhering to GoA document management protocols for all relevant procurement and contract documentation.
