Role Overview

Reporting to the Director of IT Procurement, the IT Services Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the effective management of procurement initiatives and contracts within their designated portfolio. This role involves leading a team of IT Procurement Specialists, Analysts, and Officers to facilitate the development, procurement, and execution of contracts and master agreements utilizing various procurement strategies. The focus of this position is on team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution to ensure that both vendor and client requirements are met efficiently.

The IT Services Procurement Manager serves as the primary contact for all procurement and contracting inquiries related to a comprehensive portfolio that may encompass multiple Divisions and/or Ministries. The IT Procurement team is tasked with managing the engagement process with suppliers, which includes procurement, negotiation, execution, and termination of services for the Government of Alberta (GoA). This necessitates close collaboration with service owners and suppliers to foster and sustain productive relationships while maximizing value. Team members are also responsible for adhering to GoA document management protocols for all relevant contract and procurement documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Strategic planning for procurement and contracts to uphold the highest standards of procurement excellence. Management of Information Management Technology (IMTI) procurement to ensure best practices and operational efficiency. Cultivating and sustaining collaborative relationships with clients and vendors. Delivering effective leadership with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring team members and direct reports. Identifying staffing needs and enhancing business processes to align with operational and management objectives. Fostering Leadership, Mentorship, and Employee Development.

This role leads a team of specialized IT Procurement professionals, emphasizing leadership, mentorship, effective coaching, and staff development. The position is pivotal in maintaining robust relationships and strategic partnerships to facilitate province-wide procurements, vendor and contract management, and master agreement acquisition.
