About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist I to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely procurement and management of parts used by our maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement and stocking of parts, including inventory and non-inventory items, to support maintenance operations.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with users, buyers, and vendors to streamline procurement processes.
- Process requests for parts and contractor quotes for purchase orders.
- Maintain site stores, operate the tool crib, and ensure tools and rigging equipment are properly organized and maintained.
- Handle warranty return items and manage compressed gas cylinders.
- Assist with capturing inventory details, costing related to maintenance and healthcare equipment, and organizing contracted inspections.
- Work with vendors to coordinate contract work as required.
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Intermediate understanding of purchasing fundamentals, including Logistics, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Basic understanding of contract language and legal terminology.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Keyboarding skills with a minimum of 30 wpm.
- Ability to communicate in English clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff, management, and vendors.
- Ability to produce a large volume of work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and strong attention to detail.
- Oracle or other ERP system experience.
- Client-focused and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrates a high standard of work ethic in a previous position with minimal errors.
- Must be a self-starter, work with confidential information, demonstrate initiative, and be able to action assigned tasks.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
