Cement Operations Technician

Job Overview:
The Cement Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in supporting various operational functions within the cement manufacturing facility. This position requires on-site presence and candidates will be allocated to specific departments based on their skills and the needs of the business. Potential departments include Production, Process, Maintenance, Environmental Compliance, and Quality Assurance. High-performing Cement Technicians may be considered for long-term positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and promote all safety protocols within the plant.
- Assist in maintenance shutdowns by serving as a confined space entry monitor.
- Perform administrative duties as needed, including purchase orders and system requests.
- Conduct field inspections to ensure operational integrity.
- Support environmental compliance initiatives and improvements.
- Contribute to sustainable practices and greenhouse gas reduction efforts.
- Test and evaluate plant systems for performance.
- Analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Help develop operational and maintenance procedures, ensuring effective communication across shifts.
- Evaluate production data for efficiency improvements.
- Prepare cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- No prior experience required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Post-secondary education is essential.
- Preferred fields of study include Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in computer applications, with experience in MS Excel and/or SAP being advantageous.

Physical Demands:
This role involves a variety of tasks and is not routine. The Cement Technician will work outdoors, at heights, in warm conditions, and in potentially dusty environments. While primarily a day shift position, flexibility for shift work or weekends may be required.
