Position: Cement Engineering Technician
Reports to: Reliability Manager
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts

Role Overview:
The Cement Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in supporting various operational functions at the Ash Grove Mississauga Cement Plant. This position requires on-site presence, with assignments to specific departments based on individual skills and business requirements. Departments may include Production, Process, Maintenance, Environment, and Quality. Exceptional Cement Technicians may be considered for permanent roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and promote all safety protocols within the plant.
- Assist with maintenance activities by serving as a confined space entry monitor twice weekly.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed, including purchase orders, SAP requests, and other departmental requirements.
- Conduct field inspections and support environmental compliance initiatives.
- Contribute to sustainable practices and greenhouse gas reduction efforts.
- Test and audit plant systems, analyze data, and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Help develop operational and maintenance procedures, ensuring effective communication across shifts.
- Analyze production data for efficiency improvements and prepare cost-benefit analyses.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- No prior experience required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Post-secondary education is essential.
- Preferred fields of study include Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in computer applications, with experience in MS Excel and/or SAP being advantageous.

Physical Requirements:
This role offers a diverse work environment and is not routine. Cement Technicians will work outdoors, at heights, in warm conditions, and occasionally in dusty or confined spaces. While primarily a day shift position, flexibility for shifts or weekend work may be necessary.
Work Environment:
This position operates throughout the plant.
