Position Summary:

The Cement Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in supporting various operational functions at Oldcastle Inc. This position requires on-site presence, with assignments distributed across departments such as Production, Process, Maintenance, Environment, and Quality. Exceptional performance may lead to permanent employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and promote all safety protocols within the plant.
  • Assist in maintenance shutdowns by serving as a confined space entry monitor.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed, including purchase orders and SAP requests.
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Support environmental compliance initiatives and improvements.
  • Contribute to sustainable practices and greenhouse gas reduction efforts.
  • Test and audit various plant systems.
  • Analyze data and compile reports for management review.
  • Help develop operational and maintenance procedures, ensuring effective communication across shifts.
  • Evaluate operating systems and production data for efficiency enhancements.
  • Prepare cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Post-secondary education is essential.
  • Preferred fields of study include Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in computer applications, with experience in MS Excel and/or SAP being advantageous.
