Pension Plan - All full-time employees have the opportunity to join a group pension plan after two consecutive years of employment, contributing 5% of their gross earnings per pay, matched by the YMCA. After three consecutive years of full-time service, participation in the YMCA pension plan becomes mandatory.

Role Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Child Care Supervisor, you will design and execute a child-focused program in alignment with our Playing to Learn curriculum (0-6 years) and the YMCA Place to Connect curriculum (6-12 years). In this role, you will...

Split your time between administrative duties and program delivery Assist the supervisor in guiding a team to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where children and families can access high-quality licensed child care that fosters positive outcomes Enhance your team's knowledge, skills, and confidence through effective supervision, on-site support, and coaching Establish meaningful connections and utilize effective communication to build strong relationships with children, families, educators, volunteers, and community partners Cultivate a positive team environment by boosting morale and fostering a safe, trusted atmosphere where reflection and goal setting are encouraged Support all developmental stages by ensuring the delivery of high-quality licensed child care experiences that promote exploration, play, and inquiry, in accordance with Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years and YMCA Curriculum Manage administrative tasks while adapting to the evolving needs of the center

Qualifications:

Registered Early Childhood Educator:

An Early Childhood Educator Diploma Registered (or proof of registration in process) and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a licensed child care environment working with children aged 0-5 and 6-12 years

Early Child Care Educator:

Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Work, Bachelor of Education, Social Service Worker, Social Work, or Recreation and Leisure

General Qualifications:

Experience in leading diverse teams to create environments that foster positive, responsive relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners Strong competencies in relationship building, communication, coaching, mentoring, problem-solving, and critical reflection Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification prior to the first day of work Up-to-date immunizations as required by Public Health Ability to perform light to medium physical tasks: lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending, and stooping; lifting a child Willingness to work outdoors for at least 1 hour daily year-round; may be exposed to varying weather conditions Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned working hours Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and fostering a sense of belonging Applicants must be at least 18 years of age as per Ministry guidelines Legally entitled to work in Canada
