About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Pluto Day Care. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Storytelling and Engagement: Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, and assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records.
  • Child Development: Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Health and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a child-care setting.
  • Certifications: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
