Position Title: Assistant Supervisor – Child Care (RECE, ECE)
Role Overview:
As an Assistant Supervisor in Child Care, you will be responsible for designing and executing a child-focused program aligned with our Playing to Learn curriculum for ages 0-6 and the YMCA Place to Connect curriculum for ages 6-12.
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocate time effectively between administrative duties and direct program engagement.
- Assist the supervisor in guiding a team to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Enhance the skills and confidence of your team through effective leadership.
- Establish meaningful relationships with children, families, and community stakeholders.
- Encourage a collaborative team culture.
- Support developmental needs across various age groups.
- Handle administrative tasks efficiently.
Qualifications Required:
- Registered Early Childhood Educator: Must possess an Early Childhood Educator Diploma and be registered in good standing with CECE.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in a licensed child care environment.
- General Skills:
- Proven experience in leading diverse teams.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- Up-to-date immunizations as mandated by Public Health.
- Ability to lift weights up to 20 kg and work in outdoor settings.
- Flexibility in work hours is essential.
- Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion principles.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
